Removing barriers through new teaching methodologies as part of moving towards a better classroom experience for children with social deficiencies

This was an amazing opportunity that can serves the purposes of our long-term strategic goals by providing great professional and personal development to our teaching staff members, while boosting staff confidence. What else could a beter chance to mix the pleasure of travelling abroad and learning relevant skills Conflict Management, Emotional Intelligence and Bullying Prevention.

The process

We have selected some of the best providers of courses and training in some of the most beautiful European locations. We set ourselves some clear objectives and discussed all steps with teachers every step of the way so far and we continue to keep them included throughout the project.

The first course in Split, Croatia: Conflict Management, Emotional Intelligence and Bullying Prevention.

The result will be a better education for our children and a much more interesting classroom experience while being eqiupped to deal with conflict and to prevent bullying at school.

Why this course? What are the issues we are trying to resolve?

One of our main struggles is to find teachers who have the qualifications and know-how to deal with conflicts in the classrooms which are underpinned by the socioeconomic issues these children have struggled with prior to arriving at our school. We struggle to find teachers who are equipped with the tolerance, knowledge and motivation to use many different interactive and inclusive techniques to make the classroom a better learning environment tailored to the specific needs of each pupil.

Therefore it is our long-term strategy to ensure that our teachers attend appropriate courses both nationally and internationally and also spend enough time with their pupils with extracurricular activities (which in our case is pretty affordable as the pupils live at the Boarding school), in order to start understanding where their difficult behaviors and conflicts in the classroom stem from.
