We believe all children should receive an equal start in life

Dimitar Ekimov School is the only one in Bulgaria that saves children from extremely poor families by providing them with quality education, upbringing and care completely free of charge.

We established the school and boarding house in the village of Rusalya, Veliko Tarnovo region, in 2014 and for 10 years we have existed solely thanks to donors. We appreciate even the most modest donation because it helps us feed and clothe our students, cover our bills, reward the work of our teachers and mentors, and support our talented high school students… We are also raising funds to expand the boarding house and school – we are currently turning away children because we have no space. And we want and can help many more talented children!

Other ways to help

Even those who cannot donate financially can support the school by:

• Telling friends, relatives and colleagues about the cause.
• Sharing information about Rusalya on social media Facebook, Instagram и TikTok
• Becoming an ambassador in their area – the school will send leaflets and posters for distribution.
• Organising an event and inviting an audience – the school will visit with the School
  for Hope film and its team.
• Volunteering in Rusalya and helping maintain the school and care for the children.
• Asking about job vacancies – the school needs good teachers and mentors.
• Referring children at risk – together with Child Protection Services the school will
  try to help.
